For the month of September, we will be putting the spotlight on the incredibly talented, sweetheart that is Author Callie Rose!
You may know her for her addicting reverse harem series, such as Boys of Oak Park Prep, Kings of Linwood, or her brilliant paranormal series, Fallen University.
I have read every single book that Callie has published, and she has quickly grown to be one of my absolute favorite authors in the indie community.
So, if you love Callie Rose, or this is your first time hearing of her, there is a little something that everyone can take from this spotlight.
Callie was wonderful enough to allow us to interview her, and get some answers that we think readers will love to know about her.
So, without further ado, here is the interview!
1. Introduce yourself: What's your name? How old are you? &Where are you from?
Hello, lovely readers! I'm Callie Rose. I'm 26 years old, and I'm a reverse harem author.
2. Tell us a little about yourself. Education? Do you have another job outside of writing? What is your family/ life like(i.e.-Do you have any pets? Siblings?Do you live alone? Do you have any hobbies outside of writing? Favorite TV Shows/Netflix Shows? What is you favorite genre to read? Do you have any favorite authors?)
I'm a full-time author, which is exciting and scary and wonderful! When I'm not writing, I like to spend time with my husband and our puppy, drink wine, and binge Netflix shows (sometimes all at the same time!). I also love to travel. Going new places and seeing new things provides so much of the inspiration for my writing, and it's my favorite way to spark my creative juices. I loooove angst in the books I read, but a lot of my favorite TV shows are comedies. My favorite genre to read is reverse harem. I discovered it several years ago and have been hooked ever since.
3. Have you ever had a specific moment in your life that made you stop and realize that writing/becoming an author was perfect for you? If so, what happened/what was that moment like? &/or what/who inspired you to pick up and start to write the very first time?
I've always loved writing. In school, I used to take any opportunity I could to turn a project or assignment into a chance to tell a story. Once I got out of college, I started writing more seriously, but it took a while for me to take the plunge and decide to publish. I'm so glad I did, because it's been really life-changing. I have so many stories bouncing around in my head, and being able to put them down and share them with people is so incredible. I don't think there was one single 'ah ha' moment that made me decide to jump in. It was more of a slow build, a dawning realization that there was nothing else I wanted to do as much as write! My husband has been amazingly supportive, and I'm so grateful!
4. What was your dream job as a child? Had you always wanted to be a writer, or was that something that came to you a little later in your life?
I had a million dreams jobs as a child! I think that's part of why I decided to become a writer. There were too many things I wanted to do and experience, and not enough time to do all of them in my life. So it only made sense to find a career path where I could delve into different worlds and characters and jobs as part of the stories I write.
5. What is your favorite genre/sub-genre/trope to write or read, and why?
My favorite genre to read is reverse harem. I love how diverse the stories are, and how many sub-niches there are with that genre! I tend to switch back and forth between paranormal/urban fantasy and contemporary. I love them both, and I think switching it up makes me appreciate each one more when I go back to it. I have a few favorite tropes that I will always love to read and write. I'm a sucker for a good enemies to lovers story. The tension is so delicious, and the build-up of attraction, even if they try to fight it, is so much fun. I also have a secret love of fake relationship stories!
6. Tell me a little about your most recent/upcoming release. Remaining as general(no spoilers of course!) as is possible, what is this book about? &What pushed you to write it?
My upcoming release is The Risk, the final book in my Kings of Linwood Academy series. The inspiration for the story came to me in a dream (this happens a lot, so I keep a notebook by the bed for my mad 1 AM scribbles!). There's a specific scene in the first book, The Help, that I dreamed almost in its entirety exactly how it is in the book, and I built out from there, honing and developing the story. I've had a lot of fun working on this series. I relate to Harlow, the main character, on a lot of levels, and I think her guys are some of my favorite characters I've ever written.
7. If you could tell your readers anything, whether it be about yourself, your books/upcoming books, life, love, happiness...etc, (you can choose one option or a few) what would you tell them/like them to know?
I would like to tell my readers "thank you"! Your love and support has meant the entire world to me, and is really the reason I'm still here and so excited to be looking ahead to what the next year holds and planning my next releases.
I'd also say to any readers who have that little inkling inside their heart nudging them to share their own stories - do it! There's never been a better time to be a writer. It sometimes still amazes me that I can write down the stories in my heart and then put them out in the world so easily, but in the digital age, there's really nothing to stop you! So if you have a story you want to share, don't let anyone tell you that you can't. You can.

A long time ago, I was one of them. Now I’m back, and they hate me for it.
Plucked out of the harsh life I was living and thrust into a world of unimaginable wealth, power, and privilege, all I want to do is keep my head down and survive until graduation.
But they have other plans—Mason, Finn, Elijah, and Cole.
Everyone at my new school calls them the Princes, and that’s exactly what they act like. They always get what they want… and who they want.
And they want me.
I’m not sure why, since they all seem to hate me.
The Princes are gorgeous, flawless, and cruel. They own this town, and they’re determined to own me too.
To break me.
What they don’t know is that I’ve already been broken once.
I won’t let it happen again.
They called me trash. They called me whore. They called me so much worse.
They told me I didn’t belong in their world, and you know what? Maybe they were right.
But I can’t just let this go.
I’m still a Hildebrand, after all, and I’ve only just begun to scratch the surface of what that legacy means.
There are secrets buried in Roseland, and I’m determined to dig them up. To make the Princes pay for what they did.
Trying to exact vengeance from hundreds of miles away isn’t easy though—until a mysterious ally offers help that could change everything.
At least someone is on my side in all of this.
I just have no idea who it is.
Truths will be uncovered. Alliances will shift.
Nothing will ever be the same.
The four boys who stole my heart and then broke it are determined to win back my trust.
Whether or not I'm ready to give it, I'll need them by my side.
Because as it turns out, there are worse dangers in this world than the Princes of Oak Park Prep.
And I can't fight this battle alone.
Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help.
They don't torture the help.
They don't crave the help.
For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have lived on the edge of ruin, so when she finally gets a decent job offer, she moves us cross-country to take it.
Who cares if it means working as a live-in housekeeper for a man wealthier than God? The paycheck is good, and it comes with a roof over our heads.
She even manages to get me enrolled in the fancy prep academy his son goes to—the kind that spits out future CEOs and politicians like a vending machine.
But this new town has a few things my old one didn’t…
Like secrets that could get a person killed, and four of the hottest, meanest guys I’ve ever met.
I might live in their world now, but I am not a part of it, and they’ll do whatever it takes to remind me of that.
We go to school together, live together, and share a dangerous secret, but as far as Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase are concerned…
I’m just the help.
Rich boys don't fraternize with the help.
They don't care about the help.
They don't protect the help.
I should've remembered those lessons before I handed over my trust to four gorgeous, domineering boys.
But I didn't.
And now, I'm not the only one who's been hurt.
Someone out there is toying with me and my family, and I don't know who to turn to or who to trust.
I never wanted to play this game. But since the pieces are already on the board...
I'm sure as fuck gonna play to win.
Pre-order The Risk Today!
The Risk will be here on 10/1!
Rich boys don't fraternize with the help.
They don't fall in love with the help.
They don't risk everything for the help.
We know what we're up against now. Who we're up against. But if he holds all the cards, the truth hardly matters.
The kings of Linwood want me to run. They want me far away from here, where I'll be safe.
I won't go though. I refuse to leave my mom behind, and the four boys who've each claimed a piece of my heart won't let me face this threat on my own.
They swear they'll do whatever it takes to end this. To keep me safe.
Since we won't back down, fighting is our only option.
But I've played poker long enough to know that sometimes when you risk everything...
You lose everything.
Did you know ordinary people can be turned into demons? I sure as f#ck didn’t. Until it happened to me.
One day, I was a regular college student, working a boring job and studying for finals—and the next, I was transformed into some strange creature of the night.
Now I’ve got powers I don’t understand, I can change my appearance with a thought, and I’m having all kinds of odd… cravings.
If I thought all this bullshit was gonna get me out of going to college though, I’ve got another think coming. Nope, I still need an education. Except the classes at Fallen University are on things like “Curses and Hexcraft” and “Magical Combat”.
It’s not all bad. There are these four hot as hell guys I keep bumping into—Kingston, Jayce, Xero, and Kai. I’m not sure if I should trust them; they’ve each got secrets of their own, and they’re definitely dangerous.
But that craving I’ve been having?
It’s pulling me right toward them.
Yup, things are about to get real interesting at FU.
If I thought year one at Fallen University was rough, year two may prove hellish...
What do you do when your entire magical academy is banished to the underworld?
No, seriously. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.
Because we've been cut off from humanity and the rest of the Custodians, and the admins seem completely lost, unsure of what to do or how to get us back to earth.
And to make matters worse, some students seem to be reacting very... badly to being in the underworld.
But the rumor that just breathing the atmosphere down here for too long will turn you evil is just a myth, right?
"Okay, you have a RH bully book. You go into knowing there will be bullying..a new school..boys.. girls...will the main character be strong? How will she endure? is there tricks? Pranks? Fighting? Love lost or love found? Can we mention boys again? 4 certain, hot, bad, bad, boys...that ehhh, may soak a little somethin somethin’, yet you’d like to gouge their eyes out with a fork🤷🏻♀️ Take your pick. "

" The Help was EVERYTHING!
Callie Rose killed it! Hands down she checked all of my boxes, and even the ones I didn’t realize I had!🤗
This was such a spectacular book for me. I felt all of the emotions! The characters were so intriguing.
First off, Harlow is such a strong and amazing character. She held her own even when everyone was against her. She was put down continuously by her peers and humiliated. But she didn’t give up, she kept on persevering. "
